The world is lost.
Countries are constantly fighting against one another, either with weapons or sanctions. Governments are becoming perverted in brainwashing generations with influences that are the antithesis of God’s word.
In these events, we as people, do our best to create inner peace and satisfaction in our lives. Some chase careers and attempt to build contentment through ambition and hard work towards their goals.
Others create families and strive to nurture new generations like plants and trees. Very few live selfishly for themselves without any regard to the condition of others.
With that said, the age-old question remains…
What is the meaning of life…?
What are humans programmed to do?
Why were we created and what is our purpose?
The most accepted answer is that God has the keys to our purpose and future, and it’s correct.
Scripture tells us in Jeremiah 29:11 (CSB) that:
For I know the plans I have for you”—this is the Lord’s declaration—“plans for your well-being, not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
God has already said that he knows the plans he has toward us, and it’s for us to prosper.
Yet, God’s will for us is much deeper than this.
It’s a common theme that by accepting Jesus as our personal savior, we are to pick up our cross and follow his heavenly example.
We are supposed to go deeper in Christ, reject the world’s perspective, and accept an assignment God has given to us.
Whether that assignment is leading a church, prophesying, or evangelizing his word, we are supposed to complete our mission.
For I know the plans I have for you”—this is the Lord’s declaration—“plans for your well-being, not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.Jeremiah 29:11 Christian Standard Bible (CSB)
The problem many of us face is that we are so engulfed in our daily habits we forget about our assignment.
Thus, we place God second in our lives. Our assignment is stalled, and Satan begins to influence our lives.
The further we move away from God, the further we escape his rest.
This opens the door for attacks from Satan. Therefore, Saints, I implore you to recognize the true reason why you’re here.
I want you to understand that you are here to serve a heavenly purpose. You are a spiritual being having a natural experience here on earth. Your purpose is to serve God with everything you have.
Once you surrender fully to Jesus and ask the Holy Spirit to fill you with a divine spirit, you’ll receive a divine assignment from God you are anointed to accomplish.
Just like Paul on the Road to Damascus, we are to accept God’s call and press toward the mark.
I’ll leave you with this…
I pursue as my goal the prize promised by God’s heavenly call in Christ Jesus. Therefore, let all of us who are mature think this way. And if you think differently about anything, God will reveal this also to you. In any case, we should live up to whatever truth we have attained. Join in imitating me, brothers and sisters, and pay careful attention to those who live according to the example you have in us.Philippians 3:14-17 CSB
The true meaning of life is to serve God and fulfill his purpose.
It’s not to be a faithful churchgoer.
It’s not to obtain a career, make millions of dollars, and achieve worldwide fame.
It’s not to get married or have plenty of children.
To achieve God’s purpose is to leave these selfish objectives behind and achieve a perfect will designed to impact the entire world and increase the territory of God’s kingdom here on earth.
May you be united in our purpose to satisfy God.
Press toward the mark, Saints.
